GARY S. CHAVIN, O.D.

Dr. Chavin attended the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana and then the Illinois College of Optometry graduating in 1965. Upon graduating from Optometry School, Dr. Chavin became Captain Chavin, serving in the United States Medical Service Corps as an Opotometrist having been stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas and Fort Knox, Kentucky from 1966-1968.
Upon discharge from the Army, Dr. Chavin became an associate optometrist with Dr. Paul Cole in Berwyn, Illinois, and in 1969 entered into private practice in Sycamore, Illinois, and in 1970 a second practice in Mount Prospect, Illinois.
Dr. Chavin is currently actively practicing optometry at 1119 Mount Prospect Plaza specializing in contact lenses and family practice which includes diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases; co management of Lasik and cataract patients. Dr. Chavin has always tried to emphasize personalized service in his practice.
Dr. Chavin and his wife Pat have two married daughters Jill and Heidi and 5 grandchildren, luckily they all live in the nearby area.
The Chavin family when not practicing optometry spend time in Colorado engaged in all the seasonal activities, skiing and in the summer biking, hiking and river rafting.

Ruth Lueck
Ruth has worked for Dr. Gary Chavin, Optometrist for the past 10 years. Ruth has developed expertise in frame styling and selection along with considerable knowledge of lens product and technology. Patients always have a smile when they return to the office and find that Ruth remains an integrated part of Dr. Chavin's optometry paractice; always ready to consult with insurance questions, schedule appointments or teaching patients to insert and remove their new contact lenses.
